Crochet Star Stitch

The star crochet stitch uses a half double crochet on the outsides of the start stitch to create a border around the star-shaped pattern. The start stitch pattern goes particularly well with variegated yarn with long sections of solid because you can see the difference in the stitches as you go. However, it is not required that the yarn used is variegated as solid will also work well. As for the hook, a 5.0 crochet hook, which is a good hook size to start out with, is ideal to work with. Once completed, the gorgeous pattern of this switch will really come together well.
