Accessory pathway catheter ablation

Описание: Accessory pathways (AP) are located around the tricuspid or mitral valves of the heart.

Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) or atrial fibrillation can be associated with APs, termed as Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome.

Catheter ablation for treatment of WPW or symptomatic SVT is indicated with a high rate (95-97%) of success.

A 14y-o boy with symptomatic SVT underwent EP study for treat a left AP. After diagnostic EP, transeptal puncture was performed and mitral annulus mapped to looking for a AP insertion. Successful ablation was reached in lateral wall of mitral valve.
