Today I bring you an emotional tribute to Danny Archer, one of the best characters ever created for the world of movies. His story reminds me a lot of Arthur Morgan, the main character of the video game Red Dead Redemption 2. I was very sad to see him die in that sunset (Danny and Arthur) 😭😭🤠.

Danny Archer, is a Rhodesian diamond smuggler, or “soldier of fortune”, as he likes to call himself. Leonardo DiCaprio’s performance in Edward Zwick’s film remains one of his best. It’s one of his most singular roles. He explores the complexity of emotions he is capable of and especially a darker side that we didn’t get to see much until Blood Diamond. Too bad the film does not end on the same tough, risk-taking note it starts with and falls into the all too well-known safe Hollywoodian ending, seeking a hopeful and sentimenatal closing.

Danny Archer, a character played by Leonardo Dicaprio in the movie Blood Diamond, is a mercenary who is sold to the highest bidder and whose sole objective is to get the most valuable stone, a 100 carat diamond. Even an unscrupulous guy like him gets his moment of truth and sensitivity, which becomes clear when at the end of a thousand adventures he gives the diamond to Solomon so that he can get his son back ❤️🤠😎.

Archer dies watching a wonderful sunset in Africa, his native land, where the reddish sand seems stained with blood. This painting that belongs to the Cinema Scenes collection is a tribute to the film, one of my favorites, and a tribute to the conversion of a mercenary.
