This is from an old VHS tape of my parents high school alumni jazz band reunion I believe back in 1994. In this video the jazz band is rehearsing "Blue Buster". Some notable musicians to come out of Lincoln High School are Miles Davis, Russell Gunn, Amos Brewer, Bruce Allen, John King, Tony Suggs, Adaron Jackson, Terreon Gully, Montez Coleman, Andre Delano, Reggie Thomas, and many more!!! East St. Louis Lincoln Senior High Schools Jazz Band was led to worldwide recognition under the tutelage of national top jazz educator, Ron Carter.
Ron Carter & Michael Dupard spent years building the East St. Louis Lincoln High School jazz band into a nationally acclaimed unit. Today Ron Carter is over the jazz-studies program at Northern Illinois University and leads the NIU Jazz Ensemble.
