Previously, we could target promotions by categories, product types, brands, or even platform placements such as Google Wallet. But now, there's an exciting new option that allows you to focus your offers on top-performing items directly inside the promotions setup flow.
In this video, I'll walk you through:
✅ How to access the new targeting option in Google Merchant Center
✅ The difference between targeting all products vs. specific or top-performing ones
✅ How to use filters such as product category, brand, and performance metrics (like clicks)
✅ When and why you might use this, and when you might want to stick with full-store promotions
💡 Pro tip: Even though your promotion must be valid for all products on your site for Google's validation checks, you can now choose to apply it only to select products in Merchant Center. Perfect for squeezing more performance out of your best sellers.
