Описание:
The Olt Defile (Valea Oltului) was used by Roman legions to connect Dacia to the rest of the empire.
In the present, the Olt Defile is one of the main roads connecting southern Romania to Transylvania. It follows the Olt River through a narrow section of the mountains.
The long-awaited A1 highway (Sibiu-Pitesti) will eventually bypass Valea Oltului entirely. It aims to relieve traffic on DN7 and provide a safer and faster route through the Carpathians.
