Inktober is a drawing challenge. It was started in 2009 by Jake Parker as a challenge for him draw, in ink, every day for 31 days. He created a list of 31 prompts to give himself a starting point. Draw in ink? That’s what we do when we practice the Zentangle Method of drawing! It was an obvious fit. I’ve been participating in Inktober since I’ve been a CZT! OK, maybe not every year, but I’ve done several. For several years now, Stephanie Jennifer, a CZT, has been putting a list of 31 Tangles for Inktober. Watch the longer video (see link) where I will guide you through the 8 steps of the Magical Zentangle Method of drawing. We’ll create a tile using the prompt: Firefly and the tangle: Qurtuba deconstructed by Aida Rico Mon, CZT. So, grab your supplies and draw with me. I’ll be drawing on a tan tile, so I’ll be using the tools below. If you don’t have tan tiles or paper, just use white or whatever you have! Let’s slow down together!

What do you need to draw along with me?

• 1 tan Zentangle 3Z tile
• Sakura Micron light and/or dark brown (or your favorite pen)
• Sakura Gelly Roll 05 white pen
• Graphite pencil & tortillion
• White chalk pencil & tortillion

I'm an advocate of using what you have! No special materials are required for this class other than paper and a pen. Remember you can use any paper and pens you like!
