DIY Cascarilla Powder (Eggshell Powder)

Описание: Cascarilla powder is among the easiest of the DIY witchcraft ingredients to make. You can use it in smoothies to supplement calcium, put into charm bags and magick boxes, jar spells, spell chalks, and so much more! Ideally used in protection, fertility, and cleansing work.

Instructions:
If egg was hardboiled, simply put aside the shell pieces. Do your best to remove the membrane, but it doesn't have to be perfect, most will sift out later on.
If the egg was cracked from fresh, wash the shell pieces and set aside.

Blanche the egg shells by boiling for 5-10 minutes.

Remove shells from water.

While the shells are still damp, remove what you can of the inner membranes.

Lay the shells out on a baking sheet, then place in the oven at 200°F for 30 minutes. You want the shells completely dry.
You can also lay them on a dry towel or baking sheet to dry out overnight.

Using a mortar and pestle, (you can also opt for herbal grinders and electric handheld grinders) grind the shells down to a powder.

Sift the shells to remove larger shell pieces and membrane remnants.

If you're planning on consuming the shells in shakes or baked goods, the powder will keep for about 3 months in the fridge. If you're not planning to consume it, it can be stored for longer. If you see any signs of mold or mildew, dispose of the powder completely.
