Bjram Currit, a native of Djakovica in the Kosovo area, is a hero from the time of Albania‘s foundation as a modern nation. He led the Kosovo ethnic uprising at the end of the nineteenth century and contributed to the establishment of Albania in 1912. With the collapse of the Republic, he fought against the regime of King Ahmed Zog, and finally died in battle in 1925. This song is one of the best-loved songs of Kosovo. The gist of the song is: “Guns are sounding. They are fighting in the mountains. Someone will die. Bjram rides his horse. Though he is the most handsome man, his face is black. Bjtam is an old man. His coat is covered with blood, but he fights day and night. Bjmm is a young man. He died Without wearing a hat. Your wife Sherifa and your child call you. But father is no longer alive.” Incidentally, the white head covering is traditional to the area
