Описание: The North Carolina Marine Fisheries Commission met this month to discuss several changes regarding regulations for spotted seatrout aka speckled trout and flounder. The changes to spotted seatrout are going to limit the recreational fishing sector to 3 fish per day within a slot of 14-20''. There is a special exception to this rule that allows one of the 3 fish to be OVER 26''. So 3 fish per day at 14-20, or 2 fish 14-20'' and one OVER 26''. New flounder changes bring parity into the allocation between the recreational and commercial sectors by changing the total allocation to a 50/50 split. This may provide a short flounder season for 2025 but is unlikely to be meaningful enough to prevent closed seasons in the future due to excessive discards in the rec sector. NOTE: shrimp trawling along discards more flounder by weight than the entire rec allocation which is harvest + discards. The trawling discards are not deducted from the commercial quota AT ALL.
