Ashraf’s Story
We interviewed Uncle Ashraf, a 70-year-old hardworking man who has spent nearly 40 years making harnesses for horses and donkeys.
Ashraf believes that whatever sustenance Allah has written will always reach a person. Life has been difficult—leather has become expensive, vegetables are costly, and fruits are something he has rarely been able to afford. His income is uncertain, and some days he has no work at all.
Originally from Nankana Sahib, Ashraf comes from a farming family. After losing both his parents, he stood on his own and learned a skill instead of begging. Despite being a diabetes patient, he says, “I never raise my hands in front of people. I only ask Allah for strength.”
During the interview, he shared how he faced many hard times, including the marriages of his children, but believes that Allah always helps people get through difficult phases.
This interview is a story of faith, dignity, patience, and trust in Allah.
