Описание: The people of Fidenae lived in one of the oldest cities in central Italy, located along the Tiber River only a few kilometers north of Rome. Because of this strategic position, Fidenae controlled an important crossing point on the river and played a key role in regional trade and communication between Latium and Etruria. The inhabitants of Fidenae were likely part of the Latins, although the city was strongly influenced by nearby Etruscan culture. Archaeological discoveries show that the settlement was already important during the early Iron Age, long before Rome became a dominant power in the region.
