Description
The internal structure of the Earth refers to the different layers found beneath the Earth’s surface. The Earth is made up of three main layers: the Crust, the Mantle, and the Core. Each layer has different physical and chemical properties.
The Crust is the outermost and thinnest layer where we live. Below the crust lies the Mantle, which is made of semi-molten rocks and is responsible for volcanic activity and the movement of tectonic plates. The Core is the innermost layer and is divided into the Outer Core and Inner Core. It is extremely hot and rich in metals like iron and nickel, and it plays an important role in generating the Earth’s magnetic field.
The study of the internal structure of the Earth helps us understand natural phenomena such as earthquakes, volcanoes, and the formation of landforms.
