For us the Dolomites are like home, and coming back here feels like slowing down and stepping into a very different area of the alpine universe.

The Route "Cassin-Ratti" on the Cima Ovest (first ascended in 1935) has been on our list for years. And this September we had THE day! We got up at like 4am and hiked to the bottom of the route. A clear night sky, warm wind and the huge shadows of the Tre Cime. We ended up being completly alone on this magnificent wall and no clouds in the sky. We were super fast and reached the famous waterfall traverse at around 10am. Our toes hurt and after the traverse we had some trouble finding the right way but topped out at like 2:30pm and rushed into the sun. We did it ... we onsighted every pitch, expect the crux pitch (we climbed it free though) and were safe again. What a wonderful day on this majestic piece of rock!
