A shameful incident during the Holi festival has created a stir in Abhayapuri. According to allegations, Ranjan Deuri, a Junior Engineer of APDCL, allegedly harassed a young woman under the pretext of applying colours while in an intoxicated state, and also assaulted a college student.
Following the incident, strong reactions emerged from local residents. Commenting on the matter, the accused official said, “I had a little to drink because it was Holi; I got a bit too intoxicated.”
Based on the complaint, Abhayapuri Police have detained the junior engineer and an investigation is currently underway. The incident has triggered widespread outrage in the area, with locals demanding strict action against the accused.
