3. Use Separate Cutting Boards: Designate differnet cutting boards for raw meat, vegetables, and cooked foods to avoidd cross-contamination.
4. Sanitize Sponges and Dishclothes: Replace sponges regularly and sanitize them by microwaving for one minute or soaking in bleach solution. Wash dishclothes frequently.
5. Keep Raw Meat Separate: Store raw meat, poultry, and seafood in sealed containers or plastic bags to prevent their juices from contaminating other foods in their refrigerator.
6. Cook Food to Proper Temperature: Use a food thermomether to ensure that meat, poultry, and seafood are cooking to safe internal temperatures.
7. Refrigerate Properly: Store perishable foods in that refrigerator within two hours of cooking to prevent bacterial growth. In hot weather, refrigerate within one hour.
8. Maintain Refrigerator Temperature: Keep your refrigerator at or below 40°F (4°C) and your freezer at 0°F (-18°C) to prevent food spoilage.
