*Journey Details:*
We start our journey from Islamabad, making our way towards the Naran Kaghan Valley, with Besar as our first major stop. The drive from Islamabad to Besar takes around 8 hours, with the road conditions getting rough from Paras to Naran. We tackled this challenging route in our Honda HRV, arriving at Besar around 5:45 PM. Our goal for the day? To reach Mulla ki Basti, the base camp before Dudipatsar Lake.
*Trekking Under the Stars:*
After a quick meal at Moon Restaurant, we began our trek at 6 PM. With only two hours of daylight left, we knew we'd have to trek under the moonlight and stars for the next two hours—a risky endeavor given the dangerous terrain. We hired a guide to ensure we stayed on track. The trail was breathtaking, though challenging, especially the rough patches along the Dudipatsar-Saral River, where we had to cross stones and glaciers with water flowing underneath. 🌌
*A Night in Mulla ki Basti:*
After 4 hours of trekking, we finally reached Mulla ki Basti at 10 PM. Exhausted but triumphant, we settled in for the night at a campsite, where we paid 3000 Rupees for a tent. Despite our fatigue, the clear night sky was too beautiful to resist, so I set up my Insta 360 to capture a stunning star lapse video. The result was a breathtaking 10-second clip that made the 4 hours of recording worth it. 🌟
*Exploring Dudipatsar Lake:*
The next morning, after some much-needed rest and a cup of tea, we continued our trek. It took us another 2 hours to reach Dudipatsar Lake, and the view was nothing short of spectacular. The lake, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and vibrant flora, is a hidden gem at an altitude of 3,800 meters. The pristine, turquoise waters reflecting the surrounding mountains made every step of our journey worthwhile. 🏞️
