LAPD-My name is Diop Kamau. I have no weapons

Описание: A group of Los Angeles police officers illegally stopped my vehicle in retaliation for something I had done 15 minutes earlier. I was filming the officers as they stopped a Latino motorists. The officers were angered that I had filmed them. I was stopped for having tinted windows. The traffic stop was Illegal. I had not committed any crime. The ticket they wrote was later dismissed. The actual reason for the traffic stop had nothing to do with vehicle code violations. It was 1997 no one filmed the police especially not in Los Angeles. I was stopped in retaliation for filming the officers. Some might say my tone was hostile and abusive during the stop. My behavior was not without a purpose. I believe it is important to expose and reprimand public officials who abuse their authority or who use the powers the public has granted them for personal motives. The comments to the officers were intended to make the encounter one that they would not forget. My hope is that they would exercise greater regard for the constitutional rights of citizens against unwarranted stops, searches and intrusions. I also wanted to address their use of my name Don Jackson. I changed my name in 1994 for personal and political reasons. Like I said in the video my name is Diop Kamau. I have no weapons.
