WHY THIS IS MY FAVORITE DECK:
I was raised on mtg back in 99-2000 and won my first local legacy tournament with a bad rendition of the 98 worlds list using survival and rec nightmare. Since I could not afford most of those cards I played living death with some elves and diabolic tutor.
My big finishers being thorn elemental (starter edition), avatar of woe as well as cateran overload and ascendant evincar.. no elesh norn yet released.

This deck is an amalgam of my favorite decks over several formats since then. Believe me if I could fit a spirit monger in here or swag tusk resto I would… back when this was anafensa they usetacould. I have been honing this deck for the last couple years. Its by far my favorite deck. However nowhere near my most powerful. That being held by gitrog or urza.

Also with a deck like this I can play up to a stronger level or keep it soft for lower powered decks without many being the wiser. I just want everyone to have a good time… sometimes if I could combo off and crush dreams early I will instead pass on that to allow someone else to have a good day. All depends on the table and people I’m with. Commander is supposed to be fun… most of the time… stay tuned for other deck techs in the future when I eat those words happily.

However however, I could make this deck stronger and more Cedh like by trimming some of my pets and creating a more linear kill path. Also by adding in more singular target effects such as hand disruption. But I don’t wanna and this is what I like to do.

Most of my other decks hinge on power over fun and squeezing the life out of players. IE tons of LD and staxx such as in pramikon or teeg. Any interest in videos just ask and they will be moved up the list.

WHAT KIND OF DECK IS THIS? THEMATICALLY
Obviously obvious things are obvious… obviously.
This deck is reanimator, value, good stuff, rock, toolbox, combo.
Sounds simple enough. There is apparently a vas deferens between the way I build decks as compared to a majority of the people I interact with IRL or use to (covid).
And on all these other YouTube deck techers. No hate on them I actually linked all the most relevant videos in the bio for anyone who doesn’t appreciate my genius.

In commander I hate when my entire deck revolves around the….. commander. I want my 99 to stand on their own without the need for that singular card to hold it together. I want each individual card to be sufficient in power level and usefulness not just to the grand design but also in someway to have its own legs. I don’t however condone tarmogoyf in commander.

I am much more partial to incidental synergies and interactions that are hard to stop. Also diversifying threats and removal. I don’t want to just be cold to winter orb, torpor orb, voinclex or some kind of Ugin sweeper. Everyone leans on gravehate against decks with a reanimation themed commander (rest in peace, grafdiggers cage, bog). And I try and make that hard to do here by having a strong aggressive/value bend and being able to cobble together removal of the pieces I need gone without overcommitting to the board or yard.

RESONS FOR SOME CHOICES.
In commander there is anything and everything possible. I must cast the widest net possible. I heavily lean on exile, sacrifice, tuck effects over straight destroy. And I want multiple card typed to do my removing.. not just critters or spells. I don’t ever want to be locked out of a game.

Knowing what your oppenents are playing will help me in the game to pick and choose which cards to find and hold for later to never be without an option when needed. Not just redundant but also interchangeable…
Very much I want ways to find ways to find the thing to do the thing.
