60-second promo for the first episode of the highly imaginative 2000 Japanese tokusatsu miniseries Tekkōki Mikazuki/Iron Armor Mikazuki that was directed by Keita Amemiya (Garo, Zeiram, Mechanical Violator Hakaider, Moon over Tao). Shades of Johnny Sokko with a young boy able to summon a giant robot to help fight monsters born of imagination and childhood trauma called Idoms. Your eyes are not deceiving you; the monster of the first episode began life as a giant slice of watermelon that's seeds also sprang to monstrous life. Sadly, the show has never been released in the United States.
The promo is followed by a Mikazuki toy commercial.
