In this week's video, I venture to Cannon Mountain and Lonesome Lake in the Franconia Notch area of the White Mountains in New Hampshire to talk about my top five reasons why hiking in the winter is better than hiking in the summer. I also talk through my standard clothing kit for staying warm in the notoriously cold and windy White Mountains and how to get the best traction on slick snowpack. Come along as we do one of my favorite loop hikes in the Whites that comes packed with an alpine lake, 4,000 footer, and even a ski lift.
