Exploring the picturesque Village of Bönigen, situated on Lake Brienz and adjacent to the popular town of Interlaken on Lake Thun.
We then got on our bicycles to go and explore Interlaken, which is built on a narrow stretch of valley, between the emerald-colored waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. It has old timber houses and parkland on either side of the Aare River.
We followed the River Aare banks and headed into the old town and on toward the main street ,Höheweg which is the shopping promenade with plenty of Swiss charm. A Flea Market was on the go with lots of interesting things to go and browse.
Adjacent to the Market was the Höhematt Park, an open field where we sat and watched all of the para-gliders coming in to land with a view of the impressive Jungfrau mountain in the background.
We then crossed a bridge and cycled along the other side of the river back towards Bönigen to end up doing a full circle.
