STORYLINE:
Humanitarian aid volunteers are delivering food to over a thousand residents of frontline villages in Ukraine.
Residents of the village of Kurylivka have been living without heating, electricity, water and communication for four months.
The village is located 15 kilometers from the frontline where fierce battles are taking place.
Explosions and the whistling sounds of incoming ordnance are constantly heard.
Despite the shelling, World Central Kitchen volunteers feed residents with hot lunches every day.
About a week ago, a rocket flew into the home of the Dubrovsky family, causing the roof to collapse into their apartment.
69-year-old Valentina lives there with her 70-year-old husband Volodymyr, whose leg was amputated a year ago.
They miraculously survived, but they decided to leave their home because it was impossible to live in such conditions, they said.
"No light, no heat, nothing. These are the conditions we live in", Dybrovska said.
