In mirage however Basim is yet to be influenced by Loki however our protagonist is struggling with his own inner daemons and that is where that Djin comes into picture. The Djinn will appear in the dark realm every time Basim kills a high profile target and it would be like one more step into the dark world of the DJINN and this is all happening inside the mind of Basim as he to some extent knows the realm he is entering and there is an inner conflict between the good and the bad within him.
Those aware of the Djinn phenomenon would know that they don't appear out of nowhere one day while one is having a walk in the park. The Djinn have their own way and they show many different signs of their presence and test their target before actually appearing before them. The same may happen with Basim Ibn Ishaq too in the initial phase of the game the memory fragment will be weaker and the Djinn may not appear as clearly. While Basim continues to assassinate he loses a part of his soul and the Djinn takes over it resulting in stronger memory fragments and even darker realms.
