Along the former Alton Route west of Springfield just after the KCS acquisition of Gateway Western in 1997, followed by the usual kaleidoscope of activity at Kansas City area hotspots Rock Creek Jct. and Santa Fe Jct.
--locations--
0:00 - Jacksonville, Illinois
1:49 - Trains IO-5 and 373 at Roodhouse, Illinois
9:16 - Mississippi River Bridge at Louisiana, Missouri
11:45 - Rock Creek Jct. in Kansas City, featuring GWWR/KCS, BNSF, UP and Amtrak. The first GWWR train is the Slater Local.
16:54 - Santa Fe Jct. (apologies about the audio interference present on the tape). Also note the flyover is graded but not yet constructed. BNSF Transcon trains still crisscrossed through the junction.
