Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of the Ammonia Urea Project of Assam Valley Fertilizer and Chemical Company Ltd, highlighted how the government absorbs the high global cost of urea through heavy subsidies so that Indian farmers receive each bag at an affordable price. The Prime Minister also urged farmers to use fertilizers judiciously and emphasised the importance of protecting soil health and mother earth for sustainable agriculture.
