Trans Inclusivity and "Coding" in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Описание: After last week's #PokémonPresents, I've gathered a few thoughts on the potential for inclusivity and "queer coding" in #Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - as well as digging into some examples of the series' history with #LGBTQ inclusivity.

UPDATE: I've decided to disable comments on this video. I appreciate everyone who came into this video with an open mind and understood its intent without feeling the need to leave hateful, nasty or - worst of all - transphobic words in its comments section. I've never disabled comments on a video before because I welcome discussion and especially challenge. In fact, one commenter gave very measured criticism and engaged in discussion with me that I'll think about for a long time. I appreciate any genuine, respectful criticism this video got - all of which I was happy to accept and engage with - and I appreciate all of the kind words from trans people who do feel seen by this video. I made it for you.

I expected this video to be divisive and I expected some hate comments from the vocal minority. I can take the heat. But when multiple people expressed that they felt seen or represented by this video, but hurt from the comments? I knew I had to put a stop to it, whole sale.

This is a video about potential; a word that is used in the script often. It's hypotheticals, it's theory, it's speculation, it's possibility. It's an avenue for education and discussion. I ultimately made this video about love. It makes me so, so sad to imagine people visiting this video's comments section and seeing the opposite.
