Steps:
1. Open mobile hotspot on a smart phone (no password) OR use old router that has WEP key.
2. Turn on 3DS and launch game. In menu go down to wireless settings.
3. Connect to the hotspot and test connection. Disable auto-obtain DNS and enter primary and secondary DNS and save settings (see reddit threat for DNS settings).
4. Go to mystery gift and select 'get via nintendo wfc'
