Throughout History there have been many brutal executions that took place, and inside of Tudor England thousands were taken to scaffolds where they were executed. Henry VIII is remembered for being a savage King of England who would even condemn two of his own wives, but inside of his Kingdom he ordered the barbaric execution of a cook who was boiled alive. Richard Roose was suspected of being involved in a poisoning plot against Bishop John Fisher, one of Henry VIII's enemies.
Many Historians have claimed that the King and his wife Anne Boleyn may have been actually behind the plot. But Richard Roose following the poisoning plot that killed 2 people was taken to the Tower of London and tortured on the rack. He was then sentenced to death and was executed by being boiled alive in front of a huge crowd at Smithfield. It was one of the most horrific executions of the Tudor period.
