SPCRR Golden Spike at Ardenwood Historic Farm

On July 30, 2022, the Society for the Preservation of Carter Railroad Resources (SPCRR) marked the completion of a track extension with a Golden Spike ceremony and ribbon cutting at Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont, CA.

This track extension project was completed around the same time as members of the group acquired a 2-6-2 steam locomotive for permanent use at the railroad, creating a lot of excitement around the idea that, once the locomotive is restored and put into regular service, Ardenwood will be an even more important Bay Area historic and railroad destination.
