Описание: “Soft Armor,” a solo work by Alexandra “Axu” Björkestam, explores the intersection of softness and flow, of protection and vulnerability. The piece researches different dimensions of the body— physical, spatial, and experiential—through breathing, elastic movement that takes shape moment
by moment. What carries, covers, and offers protection, yet at the same time binds us to a place or a moment from which detaching is slow and difficult? What can we lean on and wrap ourselves in while the body negotiates space and freedom? Can a armor that offers protection be something other than a hard surface against the world? Something flexible, living, and constantly
transforming?

Alexandra “Axu” Björkestam is a dancer and dance teacher. She graduated as a dance pedagogue from the Stockholm University of the Arts in spring 2025, majoring in contemporary modern dance with minors in ballet, jazz, and street dance. She has trained extensively in various dance styles over
several years. As a dancer, her expertise is strongly rooted in contemporary modern dance, but long-term practice in different genres influences her work with a diverse and versatile physicality. She is interested in the different dimensions of the body, in seeking out extremes and crossing boundaries.
Her movement language is characterized by softness, intensity, curiosity, and the body’s capacity to transform.
