Don’t leave it too late

Fran knows this all too well.

She lived alongside her husband while he battled PTSD, giving decades of her life to support him. She loved him, she cared, she tried everything. And yet, there came a point where love alone wasn’t enough.

In this episode, Fran shares her story with honesty and a little bit of heartache. She talks about the tipping point, the moment when enough finally felt like enough, and how stepping away didn’t mean she had failed; it meant she had chosen herself.

About Fran

Fran was born in the UK and trained as a nurse at UCH, where she eventually specialised in Ophthalmics at Moorfields Eye Hospital. She then moved to Hong Kong to work in the Vietnamese refugee camps with YWAM (Youth With a Mission).

Whilst there, she also helped people detox from heroin and set up a rehab house. Then she moved to Australia to help refugees settle into their new country.

It was there that she met and married her husband and had 3 sons. Sadly, they are now divorced, and the three young men are living in 3 different countries!

Fran is now a proud grandparent to almost 3 grandchildren!

Now back in the UK, Fran is a Trauma Counsellor, one of two TRTP (The Richards Trauma Process) practitioners in the UK. She lives in Suffolk and loves to walk her dog on the beach. She volunteers in one of the local charity shops, as well as counselling online.
