Welcome back to 2Halves1Ball! LL Cool Jay breaks down Arsenal's frustrating 1-1 draw at Brentford - and what it means for the title race after City's 3-0 win last night!
🔴 FINAL SCORE: Brentford 1-1 Arsenal
⚠️ TITLE RACE UPDATE:
✅ Arsenal: 1st, 57 points (4 POINTS CLEAR)
✅ Man City: 2nd, 53 points (won 3-0 vs Fulham yesterday!)
✅ Our lead CUT from 9-10 to just 4 POINTS in 4 days!

⚽ MATCH SUMMARY:
61' - Noni Madueke header gives Arsenal lead!
71' - Keane Lewis-Potter equalizes for Brentford!
90+4' - Igor Thiago misses GOLDEN chance for Brentford winner!
We DOMINATED possession but couldn't kill the game! Madueke gave us the lead with a great header on 61 minutes, but we switched off from a set-piece and Lewis-Potter equalized 10 minutes later! Thiago could've won it in stoppage time but missed a sitter!
David Raya returned to his former club but couldn't keep a clean sheet! Without Saka (injured), we lacked cutting edge! Gyökeres, Martinelli, Madueke tried but Brentford defended well and Kelleher made big saves!
💭 LL COOL JAY REACTION:
2 POINTS DROPPED in title race!
City beat Fulham 3-0 yesterday - pressure was ON!
We dominated but couldn't finish the job!
Raya's emotional return to Brentford!
Saka absence hurts - we need him back!
Lead down from 9-10 to 4 points in 4 DAYS!
City have all the momentum now!
Is the title race slipping away?!
📊 WHAT HAPPENED:
Arsenal came to Brentford knowing City had beaten Fulham 3-0 on Wednesday to cut the gap to 3 points. The pressure was ON to respond! But this was always going to be tricky - Thursday night at Gtech, Raya's emotional return to his old club, Brentford only lost twice at home all season.
We controlled the ball but Brentford defended deep and hit us on the counter. Madueke's header looked like it would be enough, but we got sloppy from a set-piece and Lewis-Potter punished us. Keith Andrews knew our weaknesses - he was at Brentford before!
Thiago's miss in injury time could've been MASSIVE - if Brentford had won, the gap would be 3 points! But we held on for the draw. Is it a point gained or 2 dropped? With City's form, it feels like 2 dropped!
🎯 TITLE RACE CONTEXT:
Saturday Feb 8: Liverpool 1-2 Man City (gap cut to 6)
Wednesday Feb 11: Man City 3-0 Fulham (gap cut to 3!)
Thursday Feb 12: Brentford 1-1 Arsenal (gap now 4)
In 4 DAYS, our lead went from 9-10 points to just 4 POINTS! City won 3 points, we dropped 2! They have MOMENTUM! This is getting TIGHT!
🎯 WHAT'S NEXT:
Arsenal: [Next opponent, date, time] - MUST win!
Man City: [Next opponent, date, time] - Keep the pressure on!
Brentford: [Next opponent, date, time]
This title race is FAR from over! City are breathing down our necks! We NEED to respond!
