Описание: Mike Tomlin has been nothing short of a massive success since joining the Pittsburgh Steelers for the 2007 season. He has won a Super Bowl and made another. He is 116-60 in his 11 seasons at the helm. His players play hard for him.He has developed stars on both sides of the ball.If Tomlin were available, any team with a coaching opening would chase him.And yet, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, many in the Steelers' organization feel as though it's time for a change. He reports that several of the team's limited partners, who only became involved with the team after members of the Rooney family were forced to sell to maintain gaming interests, plan to lobby owner Art Rooney II to fire Tomlin and bring in a new head coach. The main issue, according to Florio, comes down to game management. The Steelers made several questionable game and clock management decisions this season that perhaps led to their early exit from the playoffs."The concerns relate to the increasingly obvious issues with decision-making in key moments of the game, also known as 'situational football.'The absence of a plan in the final seconds of the loss last month to the Patriots was one thing; the frittering away of the final 47 seconds on Sunday against the Jaguars, when Pittsburgh was five yards from the end zone and down 10 points, only made it worse.(The source specifically pointed to those key 47 seconds, noting that the players were moving without any real sense of urgency as the clock was ticking and the Steelers needed two scores.)" Other concerns include a lack of discipline, as proven by the Antonio Brown Facebook Live controversy last season, and the team's fixation on the New England Patriots in general and Tomlin's comments that he expected to play them twice. The Steelers are, in all likelihood, not going to make a change at the head coaching spot. They have had three coaches since 1969, and they do not make changes lightly. But the fact that this is even up for debate is massive.Tomlin has been one of the better coaches in football for over a decade, and the Steelers are legendarily committed to continuity. The odds of a new coach patrolling the sidelines for the Steelers next season are tiny, but with limited partners in Rooney's ear, they can't technically be ruled out.
