Описание: The Indian government has slashed special additional excise duties on petrol and diesel by ₹10 per litre, bringing petrol duty down to ₹3 and diesel to zero. This move comes amid soaring global crude prices following the US-Israel conflict with Iran and the Strait of Hormuz blockade.

Oil marketing companies, however, may not pass on the benefits immediately, as they face heavy losses on fuel sales. Petrol in Delhi remains ₹94.77 per litre, and diesel ₹87.67 per litre. Officials say there is no fuel shortage, and panic buying rumors are false.

Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized that the government is absorbing the fiscal hit to protect citizens from global price shocks, while export taxes will ensure domestic fuel availability.
