Marathi Bhasha Divas is celebrated enthusiastically and fervently in Maharashtra, especially in schools and colleges.

Wisdom World School, Wakad, celebrated Marathi Bhasha Divas with an elaborate program. The day started with the students reciting Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s Pasaydan - a devotional and philosophical composition in Marathi literature emphasising the importance of self-realization and devotion to the divine.

The program unfolded into a beautiful fusion of song and dance in the form of a story of a girl who has moved to the US and reminisces about the pomp and show of the festivals and culture in Pune.

The students performed traditional folk dances like the lazim, lavani, and Devicha jagar that celebrate the religious and traditional sentiment around the festivals of Ganesh Utsav, Navratri and the Pandharpur Wari. The program was a great way to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra and the importance of the Marathi language in preserving that heritage.

Overall, the celebration of Marathi Bhasha Divas in the school was a grand success. The students had fun and learned more about the Marathi language and its significance.
