This year, it came hard and fast.

Burning Man 2025 began with winds so violent they erased the horizon. Whiteouts tore through the city, flattening camps, shaking foundations, undoing what had taken months to build. Then came the rain; not as a surprise, but as a reminder. Of how ephemeral everything is. Of humility.

There were moments of deep loneliness, even surrounded by thousands of open hearts. Moments of overwhelm. And somehow, all at once, moments of awe, of being cracked wide open by creativity, by beauty, by kindness, and by the quiet strength of people who simply showed up for one another.

I witnessed strangers become anchors. Communities pause, regroup, and rebuild together. I felt friendships so sincerely deep that they reshaped me through radical acceptance and love: holding me when I felt vulnerable, celebrating me when I felt expansive. I was overwhelmed, open, amazed, exhausted, and deeply alive... all at the same time.

This Burn reminded me that resilience isn’t just about standing tall together. It’s also about finding the courage to show up, and the inner strength to make it happen when everything feels uncertain. It was a Burn shaped by adversity and transformation, becoming better versions of ourselves along the way.

I carry an immense sense of gratitude for Camp Peachy; a family that grows bigger every year, yet somehow only stronger. I feel deeply honoured to be part of this community, surrounded by some of the most incredible humans I’ve ever met.

The Playa provides.

The Playa opens your heart.
And once you’ve experienced it, you are never quite the same.
