The 90s CBS sitcom The Nanny shot the gorgeous Fran Drescher to fame overnight. While the actor has been seen on screen many times since then, audiences most vividly remember her as the nasal-voiced Fran Fine from the show, which was her co-creation with then-husband Peter Marc Jacobson.

Drescher and Jacobson were the very definition of a perfect couple. Together since the age of 15, the two were friends, lovers, business partners, and more to each other. Audiences and colleagues often even touted the two as a match made in heaven. So it came as a shock to all when the duo separated in 1996 and later divorced in 1999.

Much to the dismay of tabloids, the couple remained tight-lipped on the reasons behind their separation till 2010, when Jacobson came out of the closet. The year 1999 was a turning point for Drescher and Jacobson. Not only did it mark the end of The Nanny, the pinnacle of their success, but it also saw their divorce come through. Jacobson's sexual orientation brought an end to their marriage but not their friendship. The two remain close even today, sharing each other's photographs on social media, calling each other soul mates.
