Описание: This clip comes from an acetate disc of broadcast performances dated June 1941 by Joe Marsala and His Orchestra. This time frame is somewhat earlier than generally acknowledged for Marsala's short lived big band. You will hear the unmistakable drum and cymbal work of the great Dave Tough. Dave left Benny Goodman in April of 1941 and eventually joined Artie Shaw around September of that year. This specific track is dated 18 June 1941. Certainly the harpist is Joe's wife, the lovely Adele Girard. The rest of the band personnel is unknown to me but the trumpet may be Joe's brother Marty Marsala or possibly Max Kaminsky. The tune "Soft Winds" was popularized in 1939 by Benny Goodman. Enjoy this unique version!
