Outgoing NDP MP Charlie Angus published an opinion piece in The Tyee earlier this month, arguing that the Conservatives are "emboldening" extremists and making their political views mainstream.
The Conservatives say Angus has "jumped ship rather than face the constituents he betrayed by hiking the carbon tax, doubling housing costs, and banning hunting rifles." They also added that him and his NDP leader Jagmeet Singh "hiked the carbon tax and supported $61 billion of new inflationary spending in the budget."
