At the Anderson and Campbell County line, there’s been a missing person’s report that neighbors have been following for years.
Scott and Tracy Hawkins went missing in August of 2021 after family members reported them missing.
According to the report, the two brothers went into the woods near the Holley Gamble Funeral Home hunting for ginseng but never returned home.
“I feel like they’ve been forgotten,” said their mom, Donna Hawkins.
It’s been nearly four years since the search began, and Campbell County Sheriff Wayne Barton said there’s no new information in the case and that there’s still no lead on where Scott and Tracy are.
“I just want some kind of closure,” said Hawkins.
Hawkins said she feels like her two sons are dead, but she wants the opportunity to have a proper burial and resting place.
