Arctic. Various shots as an aeroplane flies over the white glaciers in the Canadian Arctic. Two scientists from McGill university walk towards the glaciers to study meteorological conditions. M/S glacier with mountains in background. M/S as one man gets out of his tent. M/S about to check conditions, C/U instruments. Various shots as they record any changes in the glacier. Various shots as plane takes off and we see men inside, and glacier below.



Intertitle - 'London'. Various shots as children throw snowballs at each other with Buckingham palace in the background. L/S snow scene, trees covered with snow. M/S mini reversing in snow, M/S cars driving slowly down slushy road. Various shots of the snow in Bristol as cars drive through. M/S as others dig their paths out. M/S cars covered in snow. C/U as snowplough pushes piles of snow along the road in County Wicklow, Southern Ireland. L/S person walking up road. M/S's of bus and coach in drift, others pull a car out of a drift. M/S people carrying loaves of bread through the snow. C/U baker's feet sliding into the snow, pan up to loaves in his arms. Various shots as truck drives through and farmers throw hay to the cattle in the snow covered fields. L/S and C/U cattle eating. M/S sheep and lamb in snow. L/S cows. C/U skid chains, various shots as men make them. M/S car skidding along, C/U wheel. M/S electricity wires down. L/S and C/U snowplough. M/S washing frozen solid, a woman sticks it in the ground. M/S signpost pointing to Barnstaple, Braunton and Ilfracombe. L/S field of sheep. L/S R.A.F. helicopters in field ready to take supplies to moorland farmers. M/S Flight Lieutenant Webster with Pathe cameraman Ken Goddard about to take off. L/S farmers in field. Various shots as Ken looks out on snow covered land below. The helicopter crashes but no one is hurt (we do not see this). M/S showing crashed 'copter in field, M/S broken tail fin. M/S Webster. L/S Ken filming it. M/S Barnstaple train station, men brush snow off the tracks. They point from signal box as train passes through. Various shots as people brush away the slush during the thaw. M/S people at bus stop, car drives past and splashes them all.
