Old Video I had lying around from a couple years ago... I now see there may be a flaw in my diagnostic procedure. Oh well, still an interesting video!
Car had an intermittent check engine light, but it ran fine. I noticed it idled at a higher than normal RPM when it was first started, for the first couple of minutes of running. This happened every time After the car sat for a few minutes. I guesses that it was some kind of small vacuum leak that was changing based on thermal expansion after the engine was warmed up a bit, so I started to try and verify that. Found a leak in a vent hose, caused by aging; the rubber was hardened by heat cycling and cracked where it connected to the valve cover. This car has the 1ZZ-FED engine, which is very similar to the commonly used 1ZZ-FE Toyota engine.
