Описание: The Ghijben-Herzberg relation offers a quick estimate of the thickness or depth of the freshwater lens under the dunes that serve as an important source of drinking water. When both fresh and brackish or saline water are present in the subsurface, the hydraulic heads need to be translated to equivalent fresh water hydraulic heads. The salinization of freshwater pumping wells can be prevented by applying the freshkeeper concept.
