This is a 3-minute summer evening wander through my chicken run food forest — no talking, no music, just calming chicken clucking and wild bird sounds while the girls scratch for bugs and snack their way through the garden (including devouring boysenberries straight off the cane!).

You’ll get a gentle peek at what I’m growing right now inside the run, and you’ll probably recognise a few areas that have featured in my other Chicken City videos too. I built my edible garden ecosystem affectionately known as 'Chicken City' over 10 years ago now, and since then I've had brilliant success integrating my rescue chickens, veggie garden, fruit orchard and compost system all under one roof. I've spent years and years formulating and refining this system into the well oiled, super-productive machine it is today, and have learnt so much from both my successes and fails. And I wish so much someone had made these videos for me when I was starting out! So it is my hope that by sharing my garden and my system that I can inspire people to integrate chickens as a working central part of their garden, not simply egg-machines in the corner. For there is so much to be gained, for the gardener and the chickens!
