Newspapers from Tokyo, Paris, London, Moscow carried the news events daily from from streets of Lawrence. It occurred at a time when the means to deliver news as it happened was undergoing rapid acceleration due to advances in technology- advances that within the next decade would bring radio into the living rooms of millions and create a mass consumer culture . Here we talk about what caused the strike, what happened during the strike and the results that followed.
