This whole run was an absolute comedy drive of bad luck, but this was definitely the peak of its powers.
In Gen 5, even with Repels you still won't be able to avoid the 'phenomenon' of shaking grass, rippling water, dust clouds, and flying shadows. This means on a speedrun, it's possible that one will show up right in front of you as you're going along and you won't be able to dodge it, losing a bit of time. You gotta be pretty unlucky for it to happen on a run though.
Here, I manage to have it happen 3 times within about as many minutes. The time period would've been lower if I didn't also get owned by a couple of spinners in between.
