I want to share with my interested users a personal and practical way of doing some procedures. As mentioned before, these are not general rules, just, take them as a way of inspiration, so you can let your imagination fly and improve what I am doing.
I show in the video how I have installed a new thermostat which by my point of view is more functional. I now I can regulate the temperature easier.
What is that 'little bulb' for? When the light is on, it indicates the beginning of heating of the plate. After a few minutes when the plate reaches the required temperature (100 Centigrades), the 'light' should turn off. When the plate starts getting cold the 'light' turns on again until it recuperates the required temperature...at this moment the 'little bulb' is off and so forth. It means the plate would be always at 100 grades at any moment. In other words, we should consider a thermostat as an 'automatic off-on switch'. The 'copper wire' (temperature sensor) attached to the plate conducts the heat to thermostat mechanism where there are two 'strips of two different expansion metals'...the one of lower expansion coefficient is affected by the heat and bends a little interrupting the flow of current automatically.
To test my new thermostat I have engraved two logos on automotive leather glued down to foam and hard cardboard. In the first imprinting demonstration I am using two different glues and a 'standard 4 mm foam'. For the second demonstration I am using the 'eva foam' used for shoes insole and only the yellow glue. Procedures for bigger designs would be similar.
