Pakistan's security forces killed 145 militants over 40 hours after coordinated attacks across Balochistan. Pakistan’s Balochistan province has seen a sharp escalation in separatist violence and militant attacks. Coordinated assaults by ethnic Baloch insurgents targeted security installations and civilian areas. The banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for many of the assaults. Pakistan’s security forces responded with heavy operations, killing large numbers of militants. The clashes, described as among the deadliest in years, reflect the deep-rooted insurgency in the region. At least 15 security personnel and 18 civilians were reported killed in the violence. Security raids and counter-offensives spanned several days, with hundreds of militants neutralised. Balochistan’s insurgency is driven by long-standing grievances over economic marginalisation and resource control.
