EPISODE 11: ALL ABOUT WAHL EVERSHARP WITH SYD SAPERSTEIN

Описание: Have you ever looked at an object from the past and wondered what it would be like to bring it back, to make it anew? In this episode, I talk to Syd Saperstein, who in 2013 revived a defunct pen and pencil brand, Wahl Eversharp, and is now its steward. Syd began collecting, restoring, and repairing pens in the 1980s, and became focused on Wahl Eversharp, which produced pens and pencils under the names Wahl, Eversharp, and Wahl Eversharp for decades in the twentieth century. We discuss the Eversharp Skyline fountain pen, first introduced in the 1940s, and Syd's new Skyline models he introduced starting in 2013, and the most recent version released in 2025. Syd will give us the full history of the brand, how he brought it back, and where it is today. This episode has something for everyone: pens to buy, history, and design.

This type of video is something I hope to repeat in the future. Folks like Syd who have amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience deserve to have their knowledge and experience preserved for our community to hear and learn from for as long as we can.
